The Story of Us

What began as a glance turned into conversations, then friendship, and now, forever.

Chapter One

How It Started

Her: I first noticed him staring into my eyes while taking pictures in church. Very professional, clearly. Naturally, I tried to find him on social media and found almost nothing. No presence, no clues, just mystery. Which only made me more curious. Who exactly is this fine boy?

Him: Of course I noticed her first. She always stood out, effortlessly beautiful, calm and glowing. At first, I did not think much of it. But over time, I noticed her consistency. Third row, right behind the pastors. Easy to tell when she was not there. I found myself looking forward to seeing her. The church Instagram did not help either, because she was always there.

Chapter Two

The “Just Friends” Phase

We became friends, then close friends, and before long, we were speaking every single day. We asked quiet questions along the way — “what is this”, “where is this going” — but we never stopped talking long enough to stay confused.

We talked about everything: life, career, ministry, and our plans. Somewhere in all of that, we became part of each other’s daily routine. We still talk every day, which is interesting considering one of us once claimed he did not like phone calls because he was “always busy”.

Chapter Three

The Turning Point

Her: My service year was not the easiest, but it brought something beautiful. When I got to camp, something shifted. The distance brought us closer. I began to look forward to his messages, and hearing his voice felt like home, even in the midst of thousands of strangers. In that moment, I knew something had changed. I could not wait to get back to Lagos and see his fine face again.

Him: Around that time, I planned to relocate to Ibadan. She was not exactly on board and even tried to find me a place in Ikorodu. I still left, but I noticed her intentionality. She showed up in the most thoughtful ways. One thing that stood out was when she got me sunscreen. It may seem simple, but it meant a lot. If I am being honest, I caught feelings first. Before she returned from camp, I already knew I was looking forward to seeing her. And when we did, it was clear that something had changed.

Chapter Four

Our Adventures

We did not start with the world — we started with Lagos. Karaoke nights, long drives around Unilag, random food stops, and laughter that made no sense. From Ibadan trips to a 600km drive, and even an Ilorin trip where she almost drove but chose peace instead.

We have realised that it does not matter where we are going. As long as we are together, every journey becomes an adventure.

Our Adventures
Chapter Five

The Little Things

We built friendship first — real friendship. Car rides, holding hands while driving, random stops that turn into full meals in the back seat. Somewhere in those little moments, we built our own language.

Chapter Six

Where We Are Now

We are growing, intentionally. We are building something lasting, rooted in Christ, reflecting purpose, legacy, and love. We have grown from two people sharing ideas into true partners building a life together. Our individual dreams have become a shared vision.

And one last detail — we are very, very in love.

Where We Are Now
Forever

And so, our forever begins.

A new chapter, written together.

And so, our forever begins.
